The Beltane Papers has been in print for
20 years! Throughout those years it has been an all-volunteer production. We
envision The Beltane Papers as more than a collection of pages maintaining
it’s ongoing reputation for interesting reading material and excellent
women’s art, but also as a “place” located somewhere between meeting in
person and meeting in cyberspace - we are community! Women consider it a
safe place within which to express themselves, to share their ideas,
insights and research with other women, to teach and to learn, to be
inspired. They know that goods and services advertised within those pages
are selected with their interests in mind. Our contents are energetically
eclectic in content, ranging in focus from the most ancient lore to the most
personal and immediate issues of the day.
Our Readers: Your Customers
The readers of The Beltane Papers are exploring, living, and celebrating
pagan feminism (meaning egalitarian) and women’s spirituality. They’re
interested in the concepts of women’s spiritual mysteries, ancient and
contemporary, and want to deepen their understanding and enhance their
celebration of women’s spirituality. They create altars to observe lunar and
solar holy days, and gather with friends to learn, in community groups to
celebrate, or practice alone with books, pen pals and cyber friends as their
circle mates. They are educated, active women interested in feminist,
Goddess-oriented, Pagan and New Age services and products.
Circulation
We are a relatively small but growing and well-respected publication with an
estimated 350 copies in circulation each issue. Actual readership is much
higher, about 700 since purchasers share their copies. Many readers archive their copies of past issues
as resource material; new readers often order back issues to create such an
archive.
Materials Accepted
I can only accept ads sized 1/6th of a page increments. 1/6th of a page is a
little less than 4 inches horizontally and about 3and a half inches.The Beltane
Papers is created on computer and output directly to film. Please e-mail me

Computer files
We accept computer generated files in Postscript file (*.eps) or TIF (*.tif)
or JPEG (.jpg) at 300 d.p.i (dots per inch) mac or PC. Files can be received via e-mail (under 3MB), FTP (under
100MBs), or CD-ROM. All graphics must be at a resolution of
300 dpi or higher to ensure the best possible image quality.
Deadlines
We publish three times a year.
Issue 43
due out mid-August - material deadlines are July 10th.
Issue 44
due out mid-December - material deadlines are November 10th.
Issue 45
due out May 1st - material deadlines are March 25th
Checking Copies/Tear Sheets
Advertisers receive a PDF file of the page with
their ad from each issue in which it runs.
